Chapter 21: The Liberation Wars

On the World Map

By the time Leaf had departed for Alster, it had already been captured by the Isaac Liberation Front led by Celice.

Blume fled to Conort, and Alster was liberated.

A cousin, and a lifelong friend… Here in Alster, Leaf met Celice for the first time.

Opening Cutscene

Yuria:
“Celice, we should be going soon…”

Celice:
“Oh, has it been so long already? I’m sorry, Prince Leaf, but we must be off. Don’t worry, you can leave Conort to us. You should head for Manster.”

Leaf:
“Lord Celice, forgive me for being selfish…”

Celice:
“No, don’t worry about it. I understand how you feel. Well then, let us meet again in Manster.”

Leaf:
“Yes, in Manster!”

Yuria:
“Please be safe, Lord Leaf…”

Leaf:
“Yes, you too, Lady Yuria…”

(Scene switches to August and Leaf)

August:
“Lord Leaf, how was your meeting with Lord Celice?”

Leaf:
“He’s an admirable individual. I can’t believe he’s only a year older than me.”

August:
“Yes. He has gathered an army ten times our size, and has crossed the Yied desert at that young age. He is quite a figure.”

Leaf:
“You were saying before that he was ‘made to be a hero.'”

August:
“Of course, I won’t deny that. However, it is also true that Lord Celice does have talent and ability that makes him worthy of being made a hero. He will become much greater than his father, Sigurd.”

Leaf:
“I still have a long way to go. I’m ashamed of myself…”

August:
“Nonsense, you have grown much this past year. You will become like Lord Celice in another year or so. Anyway, have you two agreed on what to do from here on?”

Leaf:
“Lord Celice is going to lead his forces east along the coast, towards Conort.”

August:
“Then we will be heading for Danzhi?”

Leaf:
“Lord Celice happily agreed to my selfish requests. I want to get to Manster as quickly as possible. If we leave Conort to Lord Celice, we can concentrate on liberating Manster.”

August:
“Either way, we will have to capture Fort Danzhi. That is an important base for inland battles.”

(Scene switches to Delmud)

Delmud:
“Lord Leaf, our troops are ready.”

Leaf:
“Good. Then let’s capture the fort!”

(Scene switches to Seymetol)

Seymetol:
“Don’t forget, we are mercenaries. We don’t need to fight impossible battles. Wait until the enemy divides up, and then we can crush them. Don’t move from your posts until then!”

Church

(If you visit with Linoan)

Bishop:
“Ah… You must be Lady Linoan of Tahra.”

Linoan:
“Who are you?”

Bishop:
“I am an old friend of your father’s. I also knew your mother very well. You look exactly like her.”

Linoan:
“I see…”

Bishop:
“I hear you’ve been fighting alongside Prince Leaf.”

Linoan:
“Yes.”

Bishop:
“Hm… So the Holy Warrior’s blood is in your after all…”

Linoan:
“Holy Warrior? …Me?”

Bishop:
“Your father didn’t tell you anything? The rulers of Tahra are direct descendents of the Holy Warrior Heim.”

Linoan:
“Of Heim…?”

Bishop:
“Ah, so you haven’t yet noticed the power that lies in you. Come with me. I shall awaken the blood of Naga that rests within you.”

Linoan:
“Yes…”

(If you use a different character)

Bishop:
“Ah, the Liberation Army. The Empire’s defenses will become stronger as you approach their main base. Take this vial of holy water with you. It should be of some use.”

Fighting Flaus

Flaus:
“You shall not pass any further!”

Defeating Flaus

Flaus:
“Guh… You…won’t…”

Releasing Flaus

Flaus:
“So they spared me… But what should I do now…”

Fighting Seymetol

Seymetol:
“Soldiers of Lenster! Die!”

Defeating Seymetol

Seymetol:
“Your…Majesty…forgive… Gah!”

Releasing Seymetol

Seymetol:
“What am I going to say to the king…”

After beating the map

(If any of your units were captured in the past)

Leaf:
“August! This isn’t just a fort. Its defenses are too strong.”

August:
“Apparently, this fort is a detention center for prisoners of war. The enemy has begun executing the captives because we have surrounded the building.”

Leaf:
“What!? We have no time to waste! Let’s go rescue the prisoners.”

August:
“Lord Leaf, our troops are exhausted. I have also gotten word that the Schwarze Rosen is approaching us. Going in would be too dangerous.”

Leaf:
“No, August. I can’t just abandon my captured comrades. I’ll save them on my own if I have to!”

August:
“Hm… Very well. Then you may only take a small number of troops with you. The others must rest.”

(If none of your units have been captured)

Leaf:
“August, what does the inside of the fort look like?”

August:
“It is empty. It appears this fort used to be a detention center for captives, but apparently it isn’t being used now.”

Leaf:
“I see… Then let’s push forward. We’ll be in Manster once we cross the River of Thracia.”

August:
“Yes. But that river is a major defense point for the Empire. Crossing it will be no easy task.”
