Summary
Zeke is a powerful general within the Rigelian Knights, trusted by
Emperor Rudolf of Rigel. He holds no records of his past life before
arriving at Barensia.
Teeta is his lover, a saint under the service of Emperor Rudolf. She is
taken hostage by corrupt Rigelians, to secure Zeke's loyalty to Rigel.
Bio
Zeke's origins are a completely mystery. He was found washed ashore at
the Kingdom of Rigel and the only thing he recalls from his past
memories is that he suffered a fatal injury, which probably led to his
memory loss. When he first arrived at Rigel, he was cared for by Teeta
until he recovered. Around that time, Zeke and Teeta both fell in love
with each other.
Rigel's Emperor Rudolf treated Zeke well and even awarded Zeke his new
name. To Zeke, the Emperor was like his own father and it seemed the
two shared a common trust. In just a year's space, Zeke was even
promoted to a high-ranking general within the Rigelian Army. However,
when the war with Sofia broke out, Zeke openly expressed his disdain
for the war. While Rudolf might not have seen Zeke's stance as a
problem, some other Rigelians did.
Nuibaba, an exorcist working for Rigel, was afraid that Zeke might
betray Rigel so he took Zeke's lover, Teeta, hostage. Zeke is thus
forced to fight against his own will. When Zeke reaches his post at the
plains of Rigel, he steps in to prevent Jerome, a Rigelian general,
from causing havoc to the surrounding villages. Once Arum's army
vanquishes Nuibaba, Arum rescues Teeta from captivity. Arum wonders
what Teeta is doing locked up and she explains Zeke's and her situation
to him. Later, during the battle of the plains, Zeke notices that Teeta
is safe and immediately turns against Jerome's army.
After the battle, Arum tries to convince Zeke to join his cause, as he
is aware of Zeke's view on the war. Zeke initially declines, saying
that he fought against Jerome solely because of Jerome's corruption. He
also states that he cannot betray the Emperor. However, Zeke then
notices a marking on Arum's right arm. He tells Arum that Rudolf once
told him to serve the one bearing a marking on their right arm, as that
person would be the one who would rescue Rigel, as well as the entire
continent. Although Zeke doesn't fully understand, he decides to trust
the Emperor's words and joins Arum's cause.
After the war, Teeta prays that Zeke's past memories never return, and
she lives a happy life with him. Unbeknownst to Teeta, Zeke had already
recovered all his memories during the war. However, whether it was to
keep Teeta happy or because his memories were too painful, Zeke didn't
tell a soul about it. Although, later on, he vanished without saying a
word. Some speculate that he travelled to the nearby continent of
Akaneia, to tie up some loose ends in his past life, and would later
return to Rigel and Teeta. If Zeke died in the war, Teeta cuts her own
hair out of sadness.
