Etzel: He's the red-haired Sorcerer. He appears near the south before the start of Turn 2 of the Enemy Phase, but only if the south-eastern room is still closed. Just ignore him, and he'll join at the end of the chapter. However if you opened the south-eastern room beforehand, Etzel won't appear and you won't be able to recruit him.

Chapter 23: Dark Pontifex

Gharnef: There are three Gharnefs on the map- two fakes and the real one. If you try and attack the fake Gharnefs with a weapon that isn't Starlight, the pre-battle menu will say your attacks will do 0 damage, but when you enter battle you will be able to damage them. If you kill a fake Gharnef, they will drop a Steel Sword instead of the Falchion. The real Gharnef, however, can only be damaged by the Starlight spell. A quick way to find out which Gharnef is real is to use the Geosphere, as that will damage all units (including your own) besides the real Gharnef.

Sidequest: If you want to advance to Chapter 24x, you must have Tiki dead (or not recruited) and the Falchion not in possession. This requirement isn't as bad as the others, and there's actually a clever trick to get around this, if you want to keep Tiki and the Falchion...

Tricking your way into Chapter 24x: First, during this chapter, give the Falchion to Tiki and get her killed by an enemy. Once you complete this chapter, you should be able to progress to Chapter 24x. If you check your storage now, you should find the Falchion there. Also, you can use the Aum staff (obtained from this chapter) to resurrect Tiki at any time.
